Recent Events

Old Trafford - A number of our sports literacy group had the pleasure of visiting Manchester United's Old Trafford on Friday 4th July. Pupils were able to access the three storey museum, visit the mega store, take part in a session on player nutrition/diet and have a full tour of the stadium! We even got to try on Ronaldo's old shirt and sit in Alex Ferguson's chair in the press room! The pupils were a credit to St Patrick's as their behaviour was exemplary throughout the day and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Special thanks to Mrs Hewett and Mrs Openshaw for helping with the trip - even the closure of the M62 could not dampen our spirits on the way home. Mr Fellows

Dearne Valley - A great time was had by year 10 pupils at Dearne Valley from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th of June.  Pupils had an opportunity to take part in activities such as abseiling, Jacob’s Ladder, bush craft and aeroball.  Staff on the trip were really proud of the year 10 pupils, especially when Dearne Valley staff said they were a fantastic group!  Well done.

MP Visit - It was with great pleasure that we welcomed James Wharton MP into the College last Friday morning. James had wanted to come and visit St. Patrick’s for a while and eventually I was able to schedule a date for us to meet. He enjoyed a tour of the school, talking to our young people about their experience of the College and was keen to get involved in learning with our young people. After this initial visit, James has said he would be delighted to come back to St. Patrick’s and do some more work with our pupils, offering to come in and talk to them about life as an MP and the role of Parliament in the UK. We look forward to welcoming James back in the future.
